Hello all! I just set up my new blog and am excited to share my trip and planning with you!
My most recent and most significant action was to buy a ticket. Last Wednesday, I bought a plane ticket to Dublin! I fly out of Sea-Tac 27 April at 11:25p, arrive to Boston at 7:36a on Jet Blue. After a small, 10 hour 24 minute, layover there, I fly out on Aer Lingus to Dublin at 6:00p and get to Dublin at 5:15a on 29 April. The ticket came to a grand total $357.77 for the one way ticket. Since I don't know when I'll be coming back, I didn't want to buy a roundtrip ticket.
A few weeks ago, I bought an Aspire One Acer laptop. It's itty bitty and pretty. I love it. It only weighs 2.2 pounds without the battery and is very easy to pack up and take in my day pack. It will be great for getting staying in touch with people, planning the next steps of my adventure and keeping up with my new blog.
My next major step is to buy a camera. I know there last steps sound like a lot of technology, but they are the ones that I've been wanted to research the most and have cost the most money, so I've waited to get them.
I have a pack, clothes, toiletries, guidebooks and most everything else I need for my trip. I've gone on weekend trips with my gear and it has worked very comfortably. I'm very glad I've taken my gear out on these test drives and had the time to change some things and realize some are unnecessary, so have eliminated them from my list.
I'll keep you updated on my packing and planning. Feel free to comment with suggestions and hints. I will be on a very tight budget, so I will be spending as little as possible without sacrificing safety and fun, so any money saving tips are greatly appreciated.
